Archimedes said "give me a place to stand and I will change the world."  We can change the world when our place to stand is an informed and engaged point of view.  The South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce strives to provide programs and opportunities that will inspire you to become engaged and join your voice with 800 other members’ voices and speak out on the important issues that are impeding the economic progress of our region.  At the South Baldwin Chamber we strive to give our membership a place to stand so that together we can change our world for the betterment of all. 


Trump says he'll fund only shovel-ready infrastructure jobs

Trump and several of his top aides emphasized plans to cut red tape and jumpstart infrastructure projects at Tuesday's meeting.

President Donald Trump vowed on Tuesday to cut red tape to speed up approval of infrastructure projects and said his overhaul could top $1 trillion on roads, tunnels and bridges, one of his 2016 election campaign promises.

The Alliance for Alabama’s Infrastructure has a plan to improve the state’s pothole-ridden roads by doing something billions of people on the planet are already doing: logging onto Facebook. 

County officials launch DRIVE Alabama survey

Drive Alabama is a two-question survey where residents may rank the three most critical roads and/or bridges in their counties.

The Business Council of Alabama works hard to keep us informed on the current issues in the State Capitol this Legislative Session.   Conference call briefings with BCA leaders to learn about key issues facing our business community are offered throughout the Legislative Session.  We will be inviting interested members to participate in future conference calls at the Chamber and you can be included.  Simply make your interest known by sending an email to

The BCA produces four publications of special note. Latest issues of each can be accessed at Business Council of Alabama.

  • The Capital Briefing published weekly during regular and special sessions of the Alabama Legislature, is a weekly digest of action taken on legislation of interest to business. It also includes a summary of remarks made by speakers at BCA’s Governmental Affairs Committee meetings, and often features video interviews with top legislators and state officials.
  • The Washington Briefing published regularly when Congress in session, provides a weekly Washington update to BCA members. Washington Briefing is your link to the halls of Congress for the most current information that affects Alabama businesses and industries.
  • The Business Advocate published as part of the statewide magazine, Business Alabama, highlights BCA’s work on behalf of the varied needs of business at the state and federal level, spotlights BCA events, and includes  information from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the  National Association of Manufacturers. BCA members receive a  complimentary subscription to Business Alabama.
  • The Manufacturing Advocate published as part of the statewide magazine, Business Alabama, features activities of the BCA’s Manufacturing Advocacy Council, and  highlights achievements of BCA’s 1,300  manufacturing members.
