The South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce is pleased to release a full schedule of events for the first annual Alabama Festival of Flavor to be held October 19 and 20, 2012 in downtown Foley’s Heritage Park.
The Alabama Festival of Flavor, presented by Riviera Utilities, is a one-of-a-kind event celebrating Alabama’s unique culture and culinary traditions. The Festival is set to kick off Friday, October 19 with the Chicago Street Supper Club Farm-to-Table dinner hosted by Coast360. Guests will enjoy a family-style dinner comprised of 16 dishes created with Alabama-raised beef, fresh Gulf seafood and locally grown produce and prepared by the Gulf Coast Culinary Institute and other local chefs. Each course is also paired with the perfect wine to complement each dish.
Spend your evening under the stars in Heritage Park. Tickets for the Chicago Street Supper Club are just $100 per person and available online at www.AlabamaFestivalofFlavor.com or by calling the Chamber at 251.943.3291. Tickets for the Chicago Street Supper Club will not be sold at the event.
The Alabama Festival of Flavor continues Saturday, October 20 at 9 a.m. when Festival grounds open again in Heritage Park. Bring the family and take pride in supporting local growers in the Farmer’s Market. Learn how to make the gumbo “just like momma” at one of the Festivals’ cooking classes, or sit in on the free Craft Brewing seminar. And there is plenty for the kids to do as well. From tractor displays and the kid’s parade to vegetable carving classes and a fireworks display, the Alabama Festival of Flavor offers something for everyone. For wine and hops lovers, the Alabama Festival of Flavor has events for you as well. For just $30 per person, take part in the Festival’s wine and beer tasting. Enjoy the afternoon sipping Alabama-sourced wine and Alabama-made beers in Heritage Park. Like what you taste? There will also be an on-site retail area for you to purchase your favorite beverage from the Festival tasting area and the Chicago Street Supper Club Dinner.
While most events are free of charge, there are some ticketed events to note: the beer and wine tasting is $30 per person; cooking classes are $20 per person and the root beer tasting is $10 person. These tickets can be purchased at the Alabama Festival of Flavor Information Booths.
