The Diplomat Program is a group of 30 professionals who volunteer their time assisting the Chamber during Ribbon Cuttings, Business After Hours, Impact 2010 Luncheons, Chamber Choices and more.

Diplomat: Angie Johnston
Angie has been in the program since 2006 and is also serving on the SBCC Board of Directors. She is employed at Ebert Insurance Agency and has been in the insurance industry since 1993. Angie stays active in the community by serving as PTO Secretary for Foley Middle School, Luminaries Chair for the Relay for Life of South Baldwin and Children’s Village at the Balloon Festival. Diplomat: Joan Lee
Joan is the Customer Service Specialist/Sales at The Print Shop in Gulf Shores. The Print Shop prides itself on being the only print shop on the island, and is a one stop shop for all your printing needs from business cards to signs. Joan has been in Customer Service for 23 years and the printing business for 8 years and is very excited to be a part of the South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce and looks forward to serving her community. Joan and her husband Randy enjoy boating and fishing and family day with their 4 children. Diplomat: Sonna Brown-Reynolds
Sonna is the Branch Manager of New Horizons Credit Union in Foley. She has been a diplomat sine 2006. She is a member of the Optimist Club of Foley and is currently serving as Club Secretary. Sonna may be reached at 251-943-8815 ext. 3350.

 
 


Diplomat: Kathleen Baskin
Kathleen is owner, manager of Katy's Gourmet Inn and Catering in Foley started in 1984.  She has recently decided to become a diplomat to stay active in the community where she has always volunteered her expertise in small business management thru SCORE,  Women Business Assistence Center, Advisory Board to the Culinary Department at Faulkner State,Toastmasters and other community efforts to raise awareness of women striving to expand in the business world. Her successful catering business has served many celebrities such as Fannie Flagg, Cathy Ireland, Tanya Tucker, and most recently Southern Living Magazine.  She hosts free cooking classes at the senior center each month. Diplomat:  Darla Gill 
Darla joined the diplomat program in January of 2008.  She is employed as a Service Coordinator with Long’s Human Resource Services.  Long’s provides a full staffing service, including Clerical, Industrial, and Technical through their Professional and Temporary Staffing services. Long’s has been providing reliable employees to clients in this area for over 60 years.  Darla enjoys being involved in the community through the South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce.  Darla may be reached at 251-943-8725 and would love an opportunity to assist you with your staffing needs.

Stan Miller is a MEMBERS Financial Services Representative serving Alabama Credit Union members.
As a trusted partner of Alabama Credit Union, Stan has a strong history of working with credit union members, their family and their friends. He has access to a wide variety of investment and insurance products.

The newly founded real estate company proudly serves South Baldwin, The Eastern Shore, and Perdido Key , FL.  He has also listed the 55+ ranch condo community in Foley called Wyld Palms located on Hwy 59. Jay has experienced tremendous growth and activity in the market by earning the Top Sales & Listing Agent awards for 2007 & 2009. Jay had hosted & produced 2 weekly radio real estate shows from Mobile to Pensacola , wrote the lead real estate column for all 8 Gulf Coast Newspapers, has a tremendous online marketing program, and has earned the multi-million dollar sales plateau every year he has been a Realtor. Diplomat: Tammy K. Ulmer

Diplomat: Dale Sommerfeld
Dale Sommerfeld was born and raised in Chippewa Falls, WI. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin in 1960, he served as a career US Air Force Officer, primarily in space system research and development field. He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1980. Subsequent to his retirement from the military, he completed various technical assignments within the defense industry research and development structure. His last task was as Project Manager, Strategic Defense Initiative System Test and Evaluation Master Plan.

Dale holds academic degrees of Bachelor of Science, Mechanical Engineering; Master of Science, Aerospace Engineering; Associates Degree, Engineering Management; Master of Science, Engineering Management; and one year of post graduate study in Management of Research. His professional military education includes diplomas from Air Command and Staff College, Air University and Air War College, Air University.

Since moving to Foley, AL after his second retirement, Dale has been an active volunteer in the local community. These activities include: SCORE; Juvenile Conference Committee (Chair); South Baldwin Literacy Council (Treasurer); South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce committees and events (Recipient of the "Above and Beyond" award); Library-sponsored Tax Form Distribution Center (Coordinator); Ecumenical Ministries, Inc.; Alabama Sheriff's Boys Ranch; Church committees and activities; many years of tutoring to enhance the educational opportunities of local students (Currently tutoring with the Foley Elementary School and Alabama Sheriff's Boys Ranch); and singing with the Four Winds Barbershop Chorus. Dale has been married to Darlene (nee Walker) Sommerfeld for over 50 years. They are the parents of Collin Sommerfeld (Livingston, Louisiana) and Amy Rawlings (Owings, Maryland). They have four grandchildren.
