Assembler Trainees |
This position will involve sheet metal assembly of aircraft parts: Performing routine and repetitive assembly operations and processes. Drilling of holes, filling of holes, hand location of parts, self audit/inspection, use of Lean Manufacturing tools. Reading assembly blue prints and schematics, following written and verbal instruction, performing basic math calculations, using hand, power and pneumatic tools, and using precision measuring equipment while working in a team environment. Position requires successful completion of Valpar assessment prior to employment.
Candidates must possess AT LEAST one of the following skill sets:
1. Sheet Metal Fabrication & Assembly (Preferably in Aviation Assembly) work experience - 6 months or more 2. Extensive Automotive Repair, such as the overhaul of engines and transmissions - equal to 1 year or more 3. Residential/commercial framing or finish carpentry or HVAC installation work experience - 1 year or more
Other Requirements: 1. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness. 2. Ability to work cooperatively with supervisors, co-workers, customers, etc. 3. Ability to be regular and predictable in attendance. 4. Ability to work under stress, common deadlines and pressure. 5. Ability to follow rules and policies of the company. 6. Willingness and ability to operate overhead cranes and forklifts with proper training 7. Ability to use basic hand tools, drills, power tools, and measuring instruments 8. Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE): safety glasses with side shields, and hearing protection
All qualified individuals must have the ability to bend, stoop, stand, kneel for 8+ hours per day and lift 35+ lbs repetitively. Must also be able to work with chemicals and latex. High school diploma, GED or equivalent required. Must be able to work varying shifts including but not limited to nights, weekends, overtime and rotating shifts.

Goodrich's Foley, AL location is expanding our team. We are seeking new employees to join us as Mechanics. TheMechanical work will be in aircraft structures repair and overhaul. Scope of work will include disassembly of aircraft parts, inspection of damaged parts, and repair and overhaul of engine nacelle components using hand tools, repair manuals, and service bulletins. Must have prior working experience and knowledge of aircraft structural repairs. Work will require drilling, countersinking, and riveting of sheet metal. Mechanics will have opportunity to work on varying types of aircraft parts, in a team environment. Qualified candidates must be able to work varying shifts, including overtime and holidays. Requirements:
1. Three (3) years of experience in disassembly, repair, and overhaul of aircraft components. 2. Prefer those who have experience in Nacelle components. 3. Able to effectively and efficiently use drawings, service bulletins, CMM manuals as well as customer initiated bulletins/engineering orders. 4. Possess a working knowledge of Federal Aircraft Regulations (FAR). 5. Stand, stoop, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs. 6. High school diploma or equivalent. |
