COOK Job Description:
Follows a menu to prepare and cook meats, fish, poultry, gravies, cereals, soups, vegetables, and other foods for service in an institutional setting. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. May report directly to a supervisor or manager. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. High school diploma or its equivalent and at least 6 months of experience in the field or in a related area. DIR NUTRITION SERVICES Job Description:
The Nutritional Services Director shall be directly responsible for planning, implementing, directing, and controlling the activities of the Nutritional Services Department. Requires a bachelor’s degree in related field. Certified Dietary Manager designation preferred or extensive experience and knowledge in foodservice. 7 years of experience in foodservice. Supervisory experience required. Hospital experience preferred. In addition, the Nutritional Services Director must have a background in basic food preparation skills. Must be able to follow directions and to perform work according to departmental standards. Must be able to communicate with various Department Directors and Administration. Desirable to have ServSafe Certification.
