Meet Waterfront’s newest leaders!
has been named the seventh President of Waterfront Rescue Mission. Clay comes to Waterfront from Baptist Health Care, where he most recently served as Property Management Director for the organization, as well as the administrative representative for their Support Services division. His responsibilities included property and facilities oversight for three acute care hospitals, four medical parks, the Baptist Medical Towers, and the Andrews Institute.
"I am humbled to have been selected to this role, and I am excited for the opportunity to continue the good work of Waterfront, which began in Pensacola in 1949,” he said. “Helping the homeless and addicted in our community is near to my heart, and I consider it a great privilege to lead Waterfront into the next chapter.”
After receiving his BSBA in Professional Accountancy and Finance from the University of West Florida, Clay earned his CPA designation in 2007 and has served on Waterfront's Board of Directors as Treasurer since 2017.
Angie Ishee has moved to the role of Executive Vice President after serving six years as the Mission’s Vice President of Public Relations and Development. In this role, Angie will
oversee the divisions which provide support for the programs and services of the Mission, including Waterfront’s seven Thrift Stores and Recycling Center, operations, and public relations & development.
“Each day I have the opportunity to help lead a dynamic organization that provides life-changing help to our community,” she said. “I see men who were once slaves to addiction, and other defeating behaviors, become responsible men with a purpose.”
She puts her 29 years of nonprofit experience to work for Waterfront, leading efforts that support the programs and services of the Mission.
Outgoing President Devin Simmons served Waterfront for over six years. He has continued the important work of the Mission and helped prepare it for the next 70+ years of service to the community. “After serving on the Waterfront Board and then serving as President,” he said, “I hold the Mission in a special place and am honored to have spent these years working alongside some of the most compassionate, devoted, and service-centered staff members and volunteers I’ve ever met. Waterfront is in good hands and will thrive under the new leadership as I move to a new segment of my life.”
