(source: fox10tv.com) Born and raised in Alabama, Mack's career in law enforcement was inspired by personal tragedy—the murder of his grandfather in 1982. (source: socialeastershore) This event led him to begin work as a crime scene investigator and analyst with the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences in 1985. Over the years, he rose through the ranks at the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office, becoming chief investigator of the Criminal Investigation Division in 2004.
Throughout his tenure, Mack has been a respected leader, participating in various task forces, including the U.S. Customs Blue Lighting Task Force and the Baldwin County Major Crimes Task Force. He has also been a consultant to numerous law enforcement agencies and served as a U.S. Marshall Special Deputy.
Mack's retirement marks the end of an era for Baldwin County, but he will continue to serve the law enforcement community as the new Director of the Alabama Sheriff's Association. His transition to this statewide role reflects his ongoing commitment to public service and his desire to positively impact the state of Alabama.
The South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce and the entire community extend heartfelt congratulations to Sheriff Mack, expressing gratitude for his dedication and wishing him success in his new position.
