GATEWAY TRAINING ACADEMY
Auburn University Organizational Management Course Series
The Gateway Training Academy is pleased to announce a new collaboration with Auburn University. We will be offering a series of six courses, one each month beginning November 2019. These courses normally cost $249 per person, but for Gateway Investors the cost is $150.
The following courses are scheduled for 2019:
Productivity Management | This course is designed to provide practical strategies to improve productivity instead of just the theories behind managing time. Where time management deals primarily with efficiency, we will zero in on things that affect your daily output. Participants will learn to spot the differences and will gain tools necessary to stay on task.
• November 15, 2019 – 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM Gulf Shores Welcome Center
Strategy Deployment | Strategy Deployment is a system to translate the vision into tangible and measurable objectives for achieving breakthrough thinking which results in a sustained competitive advantage. Participants will develop leadership skills by following a Plan, Check, Develop and Act (PCDA) system, setting challenging goals as well as the progress checkpoints for achieving these goals.
• December 13, 2019 – 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM Gulf Shores Welcome Center
The four courses scheduled in 2020 are:
DiSC Communication in the Workplace | DiSC is a professional assessment tool used to improve productivity, teamwork, leadership skills and communication. In this course, we will identify our own observable behaviors and discover how they affect the way we respond to stimuli. In addition, we will learn to recognize style preferences in others and determine what employed strategies ensure the most favorable outcome. The course does require online pre-homework due a week prior to January 17.
• January 17, 2020 – 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM Orange Beach Welcome Center
Servant Leadership | In this course, we will explore the foundational pieces necessary for building successful leaders and establishing engaged problem-solvers for the long-term. Our interlaced modules are designed to help participants gain a deeper understanding of their own tendencies and the diverse contributions team members bring to the table. Our proven leadership methods can be used in conjunction with your company's organizational development initiatives to enhance the performance of each team member and the corporate dynamic as a whole.
• February 21, 2020 – 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM Orange Beach Welcome Center
Emotional Intelligence | Emotional Intelligence (or EQ) refers to how we handle ourselves in personal and professional relationships and how we interact with the stimuli in our environment. Emotional Intelligence can play as significant a role in the development and overall success as IQ. In this course, we will cover the four primary domains: Self Awareness, Self Management, Empathy and Skilled Relationships. We will explore the dynamics of neuroplasticity and how the brain shapes itself according to repeated experiences.
• March 20, 2020 – 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM Gulf Shores Welcome Center
Conflict & Difficult Conversations | Do episodes of conflict necessitate the need for a winner and a loser? Do difficult conversations have to feel awkward? While our experiences may tell us that the answer is "more often than not," the truth is that the results depend heavily on the mindset each participant carries into the interaction. In this course, we will discuss the similarities and differences between conflict and difficult conversations and ways to utilize them to build healthy relationships.

AIDT 2020 Leadership Development TrainingNOTE: Classes are available to Gateway Investors Only; $25 fee is for a catered lunch.A major objective of the Gateway Initiative is to continually search out training opportunities for our investor businesses and organizations. We are offering a world-class training opportunity through Alabama Industrial Development Training (AIDT) where participants will have the opportunity to complete a Leadership Certification program taught by AIDT's Leadership Training Professionals.
